Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On-call contracts were solicited and reviewed in compliance with Department of Financial Services policies and procedures. Contracts were approved by the Board of Supervisors in June 2020. The General Services Department solicited scopes of work and quotes from the on-call contracts to provide Material Testing and Special Inspection with Inspector of Record (IOR) services for the Leinberger Detention Facility Project, and ultimately selected Youngdahl in March 2021.The work authorization for Youngdahl consists of providing field and laboratory testing of construction materials and special inspection of construction for compliance with approved project plans, specifications and California Building Code (CBC) requirements. Additionally, Youngdahl will be provided an IOR services inspector onsite to observe fire and life safety issues for the project.
The General Services Department complies with the County Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual (APM) for all work awarded under the on-call contracts. General Services is requesting that the Director of General Services have the authority to approve work authorizations not to exceed $300,000. Work Authorization in excess of $300,000 will be brought back to the Board of Supervisors for approval. |
