Recommended Action
Approve the requests of the following local jurisdictions to consolidate their elections set for November 6, 2018 with the General Election as permitted under California Elections Code 10400 et seq.:

City of Davis
City of West Sacramento
City of Woodland
Davis Joint Unified School District
Esparto Unified School District
Washington Unified School District
Winters Joint Unified School District
Woodland Joint Unified School District
Yolo County Board of Education
Pierce Joint Unified School District
River Delta Unified School District
Yuba Community College District

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The city councils of Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland as well as Yolo County Board of Education and all Yolo County school districts have each adopted resolutions calling an election to be held on November 6, 2018. They have also requested that the election be consolidated with the General Election scheduled for November 6, 2018.

Background

The city councils of Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland, and the Davis, Esparto, Washington, Winters, and Woodland School Districts, Yolo County Board of Education, Pierce Joint Unified School District, River Delta Unified School District and the Yuba Community College District have each adopted resolutions calling for an election to be held on November 6, 2018. They have each also requested that the election be consolidated with other elections scheduled for November 6, 2018.

Elections Code Sections 10400 et. seq. permit the Board of Supervisors to consolidate the elections with the regular statewide election in these circumstances.
