Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On September 24, 2019 the Yolo County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution authorizing the acceptance of grant funding in the amount of $152,310 from the California Department of Parks and Recreation for an Off-Highway Vehicle planning project. As part of the acceptance of the grant funding the Board, at this same meeting, authorized matching funds of $97,234, of which $57,234 is to be provided through in-kind staff time and cash of $40,000, which is included in the County Administrator's Office fiscal year 2019-2020 Adopted Budget request.

The Yolo County Parks Division has partnered with the County Administrator's Natural Resources Division, Yolo County Sheriff's Office, and County Counsel. The Parks, Recreation, and Wildlife Advisory Committee is supportive of the planning grant and will advise on the project throughout the grant process. Additionally, an OHV stakeholder group has been formed to assist with the implementation of the grant. The OHV stakeholder group is comprised of members from the Parks Division, Natural Resources Division, Sheriff's Office, Tuleyome, Cache Creek Conservancy, American Motorcyclist Association District 36, and Cal 4-Wheel Drive Association. |
