Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The California legislature appropriated Federal National Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement Program funds to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) in the annual Budget Act for allocation by CDPH to the local health jurisdictions and/or local entities.  The Yolo County Department of Health Services is one of those entities.  On October 21, 2014 the Board approved Agreement No. 14-220 with CDPH to receive $1,465,857 of those funds.

The Agreement stipulated that monies for HPP Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (HPC) partners pass through the County to HPC partners to purchase supplies to enhance community emergency preparedness.  The HPC partners are CommuniCare Health Centers Inc., Sutter Davis Hospital, and Woodland Memorial Hospital.

Approval of these Agreements will allow these providers to purchase supplies that will be used to provide services to the residents of Yolo County during an emergency or disaster.
