Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) is in the process of executing a multi-pronged advocacy and media strategy to advocate for reauthorization and long-term funding of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (SRS) and Federal Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) programs in the 114th Congress. As such RCRC is requesting that its member counties adopt resolutions in support of funding federal PILT in FY 2016 and in subsequent fiscal years. Yolo County receives approximately $80,500 annually in federal PILT payments. |

The County Administrator's Office has worked closely with the California State Association of Counties, the Rural County Representatives of California, and the National Association of Counties on state and federal PILT issues. |
