| Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
Board Approval is required to execute contracts and agreements with other government agencies. This agreement will allow the Physician for the CCS Program with Yolo County to provide similar services to Mendocino County. The agreement will cover a portion of the physician's salary and benefits along with contributions towards overhead and operating expenses.
The County of Mendocino CCS program has not staffed a regular medical consultant since 2005. Constance Caldwell, M.D. has assisted them as a contract employee for their program since 1999. The State requires an independent county to staff this position by providing medical oversight and medical eligibility determination in order to maintain their independent status.
Dr. Caldwell became the medical consultant for the Yolo County CCS program in 2005. In addition, she holds the title of Health Officer and provides specialized and expert medical oversight in health program areas such as communicable disease, emergency programs, prevention, etc.
Approval of this contract would allow Dr. Caldwell to provide services to Mendocino County with full reimbursement while continuing in her current roles for Yolo County. |
