Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On February 2, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement 11-11 to fund a document imaging and content management system that would allow the Department of Employment and Social Services (DESS) to reduce the paper-based system of client files and to protect the client information contained in the files.
The impending implementation of the Affordable Care Act necessitates an increase in staff size, number of licenses and maintenance costs for this document imaging and content management system. The system purchased from Northwoods Consulting Partners, Inc. interfaces with other currently existing information technology systems used by DESS, thus also benefitting the technical infrastructure of DESS. We have also seen in increase in staff productivity since the implementation of this system. |
