Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
The current December 2006 Yolo County Bicycle Transportation Plan was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on November 14, 2006 and is in need of updating to reflect completed projects and new priorities. Since 2006, construction to improve conditions for bicyclists has been completed along the County Road 99/29/99D corridor between Davis and Woodland, and the County Road 32A corridor between Davis and West Sacramento. The completion of the 2009 Alternative Transportation Corridor feasibility study, a collaborative effort between the cities of Davis and Woodland, identified a new bikeway alignment between Davis and Woodland. These changes are all reflected in the updated plan, in addition to the updated content to reflect the 2009 adoption of the Yolo County General Plan.
The Transportation Advisory Committee has historically provided the oversight for the preparation of past County Bicycle Transportation Plans, and again undertook this role beginning in 2011. Following a public comment period, the committee reviewed comments and proposed revisions, and at their February 16, 2012 meeting recommended approval of the attached plan. |
Other Agency Involvement |
