Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On December 14, 1999, Yolo County entered into an agreement with the Welfare Case Data System (WCDS) Consortium Member Counties and Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) -- now known as HP Enterprise Services -- for the development, implementation and maintenance of the CalWORKs Information Network (CalWIN). CalWIN is used to administer employment and social services programs in Yolo County. Yolo County is one of 18 counties participating in the WCDS consortium.
The original agreement is ending and a new agreement has been negotiated by the Consortium. These services are critical to maintaining the eligibility determination system used to calculate public assistance benefits. |

Explanation (Expenditure and/or Revenue) |
Further explanation as needed: |
The county share of cost is determined by a percentage of the total caseload size for all CalWIN counties. This percentage is adjusted annually and could result in a decrease or an increase in the actual costs.
Funds for FY 2014-15 have already been appropriated. Funding for future years will be appropriated in their respective budget years. |
